Sam McDowell

After nearly 15 years in pastoral ministry, Sam has seen firsthand how one life—especially one man—can shape an entire family for better or for worse. That conviction drives his work at Wellspring Counseling & Wellness, where he focuses on three key areas: strengthening marriages, guiding young and adult men into clarity and purpose, and helping men break free from pornography into lasting freedom.

Sam is the author of ParentEquip, a resource designed to equip church leaders with tools to empower and support parents as they raise spiritually healthy children. At the core of his work is a deep belief: healthy families are built on strong foundations, and those foundations are often formed in the hidden places of a man's life.

Whether he's sitting with a young man searching for direction, a husband working to rebuild trust, or someone quietly battling addiction, Sam brings a steady presence, honest guidance, and a commitment to real, lasting transformation. Over the years, he has been able to break down the walls many men tend to walk in with, creating space for honesty, growth, and freedom. This often becomes deeply freeing for the wife and empowering for the husband.

His approach is rooted in both truth and grace. He challenges passivity, calls men higher, and walks with them step by step toward becoming men who are dependable, self-aware, and deeply committed to the people they love.

Because in the end, this isn't just about behavior change—it's about becoming the kind of man your family can build their life on.

In addition to his coaching, Sam serves as the Associate Pastor at an incredible church in Fort Myers.

He enjoys running, exploring the outdoors (especially in the mountains), listening to audiobooks, traveling the world with his wife Elizabeth, and intentionally investing in meaningful, lasting relationships with his children.
